Description

The new tax laws passed in July will benefit many travelers – we will go through the highlights of the new legislation and how it can help you. During the rest of the session, we will discuss why many travelers have considered going independent and forming their own small staffing agency. The new tax laws have also changed some popular credits but added many incentives such as tax-free OT. As you look into the future, some of the new laws may have you rethinking some of your habits to minimize your tax obligations.
Working as an Independent Contractor is a key component of today’s growing “Gig Economy,” and healthcare providers can tap into this model when the right conditions align. This session will explore the fundamental differences between self-employment/contracting and traditional employee roles, helping attendees understand which path may best suit their goals. Topics will include the additional tax filing requirements that come with independent work, an introduction to business entities such as LLCs and S Corps, and an overview of the regulatory and compliance hurdles involved. Attendees will leave with a foundational understanding of what it takes to successfully navigate the world of contracting in healthcare and how to make informed decisions when considering this career path.
