Date & Time

Description
Concussion management remains a complex challenge due to the wide range of symptoms that can vary significantly between individuals. This session provides healthcare professionals with an updated, evidence-informed understanding of concussion and the profound impact its symptoms can have on patient function and overall wellbeing. Too often, persistent concussion symptoms are misinterpreted as behavioral issues, personality traits, or medication side effects—leading to underdiagnosis and delayed treatment. Healthcare providers across the acute care continuum may be the first to observe signs of concussion, yet may lack the tools or training to fully recognize and respond to them. This session will emphasize how to identify the often-overlooked but debilitating symptoms of concussion, and will highlight non-pharmacologic, evidence-supported strategies to manage and mitigate these effects. Attendees will leave with practical, adaptable knowledge that can be applied across diverse clinical settings and specialties to improve patient outcomes, support recovery, and enhance quality of life.
