Joseph Smith, EA, MS Tax, RT, finished degrees in Accounting and Respiratory Therapy, and worked as a travel respiratory therapist before founding TravelTax and TravelTax Canada, a tax practice catering to the travel healthcare professional, mobile professionals in other staffing segments and cross border US/Canadian clients. Joseph is a regular contributor to several staffing related publications/social media, has served on the Tax Compliance Committee of the National Association of Travel Healthcare Organizations (NATHO), has been a speaker at the Healthcare Staffing Summit and has taught taxation as an adjunct professor. His firm also trains recruiters and agency staff in tax compliance. He recently spoke on a panel presentation addressing tax compliance in the healthcare staffing industry at the NATHO conference. Joseph also holds a master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University.
