Tom is a licensed physical therapist who began his career as a traveling physical therapist in 2021, exclusively working in the home health setting. With no prior home health experience, he rapidly developed expertise through extensive self-directed research and mentorship, allowing him to excel as a traveling home health clinician.
After two years as a travel PT, Tom was offered a Clinical Manager position with a home health agency where he had successfully completed multiple travel contracts. In this role, he managed a large interdisciplinary team of nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. He conducted dozens of interviews and played a key role in hiring, onboarding, and managing both permanent staff and traveling clinicians.
After 2.5 years in leadership, Tom transitioned back into travel physical therapy. His combined experience as a high-performing travel home health PT and a home health clinical manager provides him with a unique, well-rounded perspective on what drives clinician success and what hiring managers value most in home health travelers.
